The police arrested two Pakistani men and a Romanian woman in the village of Constanti in the northeastern region of Catalunya, the Diari de Tarragona reported without citing sources.
Neither the police nor the Interior Ministry could confirm the arrests Wednesday. Neighbours saw police carrying large amounts of money out of the flat where the three were arrested, the paper said. Five-year-old Sahil Saeed was freed unharmed by his abductors Tuesday after a ransom was paid. Pakistani authorities said an international gang of kidnappers was behind the abduction of the boy nearly two weeks ago. |
