Rihanna has replaced British newcomer Taio Cruz atop Billboard's Hot 100.
The Barbados-born singer's "Rude Boy" jumped three slots to No. 1 on the U.S. singles chart.
"Rude" is Rihanna's sixth Hot 100 No. 1 and fifth as a lead artist. Her most recent chart-topper was as a featured vocalist on T.I.'s "Live Your Life" in 2008.
Since debuting in June 2005 with the No. 2-peaking "Pon de Replay," Rihanna has posted more Hot 100 No. 1s than any other artist during that span. Next in line is Justin Timberlake, with five chart-toppers during the five-year period.
Cruz's "Break Your Heart" -- which last week soared 52 places to No. 1, setting a record for the largest jump to the top by an act with its first charting single -- dropped to third place. It continued to top the Digital Songs chart, moving 202,000 downloads, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Staying put in the runner-up slot was Lady Antebellum's "Need You Now," which did, however, get to celebrate a three-rung move to No. 1 on the Radio Songs list. The act became the first country duo or group to top that chart since it launched in December 1990, and only the second country act to do so, following Taylor Swift, who led with "You Belong With Me" in October.
Elsewhere in the Hot 100 top 10, the Black Eyed Peas rebounded from No. 5 to No. 4 with its former No. 1 "Imma Be," while newcomer B.o.B, with help from Bruno Mars, took the Digital Gainer award as "Nothin' On You" soared from No. 16 to fifth position.
Train's "Hey, Soul Sister" rose one to No. 6, while Young Money's "BedRock" dropped four rungs to No. 7, one spot ahead of Ke$ha's "TiK ToK," which fell from No. 6.
On the heels of its video premiere, Lady Gaga and Beyonce's "Telephone" dialed up a two-rung move to No. 9. The track is Gaga's sixth straight single to hit the top 10, while Beyonce upped her top 10 tally to 14.
Rounding out the top 10 was Jason Derulo's "In My Head," which slid two to the tenth spot.
